Before your appointment
How often should I have an eye test?
Every two years for most adults, and every year for children, people over 70, anyone with diabetes and anyone with a family history of glaucoma — or sooner if your vision changes.
How long does an eye test take?
Around 30 minutes for a standard test and 45 minutes when retinal (OCT) imaging is included. Allow extra time if you would like to choose frames afterwards.
Can I bring my own prescription?
Yes. Bring a prescription issued in the last two years and we will make up your glasses from it. Contact lens fittings need a separate assessment.
Do you see children?
From age three. Children’s tests use pictures and games instead of letters, and our children’s frames come with a free replacement if they break in the first year.
What should I bring?
Your current glasses and contact lenses, any previous prescription, a list of medicines you take, and sunglasses if you are having your pupils dilated.
